Transparency
Statement: Transparency is key in ensuring we build a more intellectual & sustainable environment, where we encompass the benefits of educating people how our networks are really public, regardless of privacy & perceptions about security. We want to uphold an environment where everyone can lead by example and help us foster greater changes for humanity. When people know all of their data is public, they can begin to think, write & do better.
Everything is public, except for the following:
What is private?
> Messaging
> Notifications
> To Do's (Private)
> Saves
> Scrapboard
> Wallet
> Dashboard > Business
> Purchases (The address part)
> Checklist Applications with Admins
> Email you registered with (not your public email)
------------------------------
What else do you need to know?
+ For posts, even if you set the projection to all hidden, it can still be searched and also accessed in our view post page.
+ When being public, your data is open for people to learn about how you're developing, working & presenting, for now & in many centuries to come, part of a history book. Therefore avoid sensitive data
+ When adding a location to your Linking, you become indexed on websites who've installed our search API feature and use that location
+ When you add an upcoming event to a post, communities & webmasters can feature these on their website through our event API feature, using the location included in the post
+ Posts can be shared in our embed a post feature across the internet, like other networks such as YouTube, Facebook, X & others offer
We think it's also important to explain that through our ethos of being more public, we can utilise this position, to strengthen our security, during a time of AI and fear of technology, when we can use it to our advantage & implement random & other smart techniques into our security plans, now & into the very future. From a security analyst point of view, it makes sense to use the public domain to benefit & bolster your security, alongside other security measures you take to protect you and your data.
You'll also begin to see in the areas which are private, expressing that it's private, to help you differentiate between the different types of interactions across the network. We believe we've done our best to make a public network in everyone's interest, as clear & transparent as it needs to be.
