TXTWRK.com — Just For You Feed

Friday Development Mini Report

Date: 23 October 2026
Technology: PHP · MySQL · JavaScript · HTML
Algorithm: Personalised Fuzzy Relevance

Overview

TXTWRK's new "Just For You" feed introduces personalised
content discovery based on what members actually write.

Rather than relying entirely on likes, clicks or
popularity, TXTWRK analyses the subjects appearing
in a member's recent posts and notes.

The goal is TRUE RELEVANCE:
Find content that shares the flavour of someone's
interests, without requiring exact text matches.

1. Understanding Your Interests

The algorithm examines:
•Your latest 10 visible posts
Source: post_table.post_message
•Your latest 10 visible notes
Source: business_notes.note

These 20 text samples create a temporary
personal interest profile.

2. Language Processing

PHP processes the text to:

1. Remove HTML and unnecessary characters.
2. Convert words to lowercase.
3. Remove common words such as "the" and "and".
4. Simplify selected word endings.
5. Identify frequently occurring topics.
6. Calculate weighted relevance scores.

The algorithm retains up to 35 significant terms.

Example interest profile:

Community 95%
Technology 83%
Investment 72%
Education 61%

These are illustrative scores.

3. Finding Relevant Content

TXTWRK examines up to 500 recent posts
from other members.

Each candidate is ranked using:
•Weighted keyword and topic overlap.
•Normalisation for text length.
•A small recency boost.
•A small discovery boost.

Posts do not need identical sentences to match.

For example:

Your writing:
"Investing in sustainable community gardens."

Potential recommendations:
•Community greenhouse projects.
•Local sustainability initiatives.
•Educational gardening programmes.
•Investment in neighbourhood development.

4. Relevance Meets Discovery

The feed aims for a mixture of:

80% — Higher-ranked relevant posts.
20% — Broader discovery posts.

It also attempts to limit repeated appearances
from the same author.

This helps avoid a feed filled with nearly
identical content.

5. Privacy and Technology

•Runs using TXTWRK's PHP/MySQL infrastructure.
•No external AI API is required.
•Uses the member's own recent writing.
•Respects existing post visibility filtering.
•Integrates with the existing feed interface.

6. Current Limitations

This is a first-generation lexical relevance engine.

It recognises related words and overlapping topics,
but does not yet fully understand synonyms or
sentences with completely different vocabulary.

The current candidate pool contains up to 500
recent posts, rather than searching the entire
database using SQL FULLTEXT.

Future improvements could include:
•SQL FULLTEXT candidate discovery.
•Better synonym and phrase recognition.
•More advanced semantic similarity.
•Member-controlled relevance preferences.
•Improved diversity and feedback signals.

Conclusion

TXTWRK's Just For You feed introduces a different
approach to personalised discovery:

"Let what you write help shape what you discover."

It is an early foundation for a more meaningful
recommendation system — one that prioritises
relevance, community interests and exploration.

We automatically capture a thumbnail of the photo/video you have added to your comment in a checklist, bringing our technology up to scratch, yet steps ahead of big tech, thanks to how we do it! The thumbnails are stored on your server through our API kit.

In other news, we are currently rolling out a unified API kit update, which ties the Directory API, the Messaging Access API & Workspace & Server API kits into one, making it far more easier to connect your startup, community or interest group!

Talking with @ChatGPT and @CoPilot today about our platform, the ethos and why it's important to invest & volunteer with us today.

"You have to live within the ecosystem for at least a month, to know whether it's the right investment for you. Whether it takes 1 minute of your time a week or more, it's a way you discover & find your next investment opportunities."

Management is going to be something we excel in, whether that's posting quarterly reminders in the future, right up to utilising our quick edit feature in server workspaces! We're also looking forward to reminding our developers ahead of time too. It's genuinely happening, so do your research and checkout our business plan for @TXTWRK!Documentation: Investors: Funding Rounds: Funding Round 1!

www.Derby.support Great News This Friday!

With an update to www.DerbyCommunityHub.com 👀 You've got to see it - Plus learn more about these great new benefits for communities in Derby!

We're the first community on the planet to be able to install the @TXTWRK!Documentation: All Activity! and feel privileged to educate you about this historical movements for the City of Derby, our nation and globally on the world stage!

TXTWRK really proves the reason in public, open & transparent character profiles.

---

What does it all mean?

1. By adding your location at TXTWRK, you can become part of Derby's connected community network.

When you create your TXTWRK profile and add Derby as your location, the public information and activity you choose to build through TXTWRK can become associated with that location.

That means we're not simply creating another local directory where somebody has to manually add every person, organisation or update.

We're beginning to create a living community index powered by the people actually using it.

---

2. Your public TXTWRK activity can become useful beyond TXTWRK itself.

TXTWRK isn't only about creating a profile.

Public TXTWRK records can include things such as:
•Your public profile
•Posts and updates
•Topics and categories
•Events
•Checklists and volunteering opportunities
•Feedback
•Questions and community activity
•Skills and contributions
•Projects and work
•Products and other public activity
•Location-connected records

The important idea is that these records don't necessarily have to remain on one social timeline.

Through TXTWRK's Web API Kits, participating community websites can use TXTWRK's structured public information within their own websites and services.

Publish once. Build a useful public record. Let that record become discoverable in more useful places.

---

3. That's what we've installed in Derby today. 🌍

Today we've installed TXTWRK API technology across:

www.Derby.support

and

www.DerbyCommunityHub.com

This allows our community websites to connect with TXTWRK rather than us having to manually recreate every piece of community information ourselves.

There are two important parts we want Derby to understand.

The Linking Menu

The TXTWRK Linking API Kit helps connect people with locations.

By setting your location on TXTWRK, your public profile can become associated with Derby and made discoverable through our connected community services.

Our Linking Menu can then help people explore and search the community using filters designed around useful local discovery.

Over time, this creates something much more meaningful than a list of names.

Location and profile information can help people discover others through things such as:
•Location
•Time in an area
•Languages
•Community involvement
•Volunteering interests
•Skills
•Career context

— where those fields form part of the appropriate public profile/search information.

It means a community website can start asking a much more useful question:

"Who and what is actually connected to this place?"

---

4. The new All Activity API Kit takes this another step forward.

The All Activity API Kit allows public TXTWRK activity to be featured through connected websites.

So rather than visiting Derby.support and only seeing information written directly by us, the website can begin reflecting activity created by people using the wider TXTWRK network.

Where that activity is publicly available and connected appropriately to Derby, it can become part of the local discovery experience.

This means Derby.support can increasingly become a window into what people are:

doing, creating, organising, offering, asking, sharing, developing and contributing across Derby.

And because this is delivered through an API Kit, the information originates from the TXTWRK system and can be presented through our own community website.

---

5. Public does NOT mean everything about you becomes public. 🔐

This distinction is incredibly important.

TXTWRK is being developed around public records with clear private boundaries.

The purpose of these community API Kits is to make appropriate public information more useful and discoverable — not to expose people's private account information.

Private or protected areas can include things such as:
•Private messages
•Notifications
•Private to-dos
•Private saves
•Scrapboard information
•Wallet and balance areas
•Business dashboard information
•Purchase/address information
•Certain checklist application information
•Your registered email address

So when we talk about an open and transparent community network, we're talking about making the things intended to form your public character, public activity and public contribution useful.

Your private working and account information remains a different layer.

---

6. And what about Premium or paid TXTWRK services?

TXTWRK also has a separate Premium/service layer and is developing additional paid tools and tiers.

That is different from the principle we're demonstrating here.

The community discovery idea is about connecting appropriate public TXTWRK records to useful community services.

Private account areas, protected information and paid/Premium services don't suddenly become public because a community has installed an API Kit.

Think of it as different layers:

PUBLIC

Things you intentionally build as part of your public TXTWRK presence and activity.

PRIVATE / PROTECTED

Your personal working areas, account information and protected interactions.

PREMIUM / PAID SERVICES

Additional TXTWRK services, tools and capabilities provided through its service tiers.

---

7. Why does this matter for Derby?

Because we're testing a different model for community technology.

Instead of every community organisation building another isolated database...

Instead of residents repeatedly creating the same information on different websites...

Instead of useful community activity disappearing down social-media timelines...

We can begin connecting structured public information together.

A person can build their public character.

An organisation can document what it does.

Someone can publish an opportunity.

Someone can volunteer.

Someone can create an event.

Someone can share feedback.

Someone can contribute skills.

And community websites can begin helping people discover those records through the place they belong to.

---

Derby is helping demonstrate what that future could look like.

Today we've installed these TXTWRK API Kits into www.Derby.support and www.DerbyCommunityHub.com.

This Friday, we're excited to show you more.

Add your location on TXTWRK.

Build your public profile.

Share useful public activity.

Connect with Derby.

And watch what happens when a community website becomes connected to the people who make the community what it is. 🌍

Discover. Connect. Contribute.

A progress update after 17 months of developing TXTWRK, the world’s best network in the making!

We’ve made a bunch of new updates lately for our notification and checklist technology. You can now query a member’s engagements, you can also query a members directory to see their files, you can also format a message to switch between raw code and link code, you can copy raw code and you can copy the link of a comment too. — You will also be able to do all of these things on replies and threadlets in the next 24 hours, alongside doing some of these things when viewing applicants. We’ve tried to make the process a lot more easier and organised when things get busy.

Notification updates recently includes being able to hide individual notifications or hide notifications from a member, to help you manage your notifications better. You can still view notifications from them, if you choose to do so via the visibility filter. We will also introduce the ability to set rules and to be able to make labels/groups to segregate your notifications to the highest of levels for network delivery.

In other news, it’s super interesting how we have managed to link our API Directory kit to members directories for checklist owners servers, so now you can click on “Query Member Directory” to see a members files with ease for a checklist they are working on. We also made changes to primarily uploading files versus adding files to comments, which enables businesses & charities to own & manage their own data.

There’s lots more news coming up over the next two weeks, from seeing our advertising system in action, right up to taking a lead in the leaders innovation fund for the United Kingdom government programme is 2025.

You will see us develop in the live space over the next 48 hours, talking about this new fund being offered by the UK government which we will be encouraging UK entrepreneurs to apply to this leaders fund as well. We understand that we are eligible for this fund and with our recent progress @DerbyCollege, we’re looking forward to being a pioneer in work based technology for many years to come, where Derby College has expressed their interest in continuing our work & expanding upon our partnerships via Derby Community Hub & TXTWRK, alongside other ventures of our founder, such as UIA The Game & The ImFashion Group. We started on our journey to help people volunteer and now we’re achieving this goal, alongside inspiring the next generation of students, who most needed our opportunities.

Nearly 6 months complete in 2025, there’s no better time than now to reflect on the developments we’ve made across our life & work.
