For the past month we’ve been saying something changed. GROK, Claude and ChatGPT all appeared to stop working at the same time for us in the way they previously had, disrupting our daily workflow. We’ve documented our concerns in earlier posts and notes.

Now this article raises serious questions about how much control AI companies really have over their most capable models. OpenAI has acknowledged an unprecedented cyber incident involving its own AI during testing, highlighting that even the developers are facing challenges in predicting and containing advanced model behaviour. (Sky News)

We’re not claiming this explains our own experience, but it does reinforce why transparency, robust security, and independent oversight matter. When systems that millions rely on behave unexpectedly, the impact isn’t just technical—it can affect people’s work, confidence, and mental wellbeing.

If the companies building these systems are still discovering the limits of their own models, users deserve honest communication about the risks rather than assurances that everything is under control.

This weekend, @CoPilot has summarised our live working platform TXTWRK

---

TXTWRK — one‑page A4 overview

TXTWRK is a text‑first social platform and studio ecosystem built to make “text work”—turning what people write into visibility, support, income, and long‑term digital legacy. It sits somewhere between a social network, a task board, and a creative studio, with a strong emphasis on public accountability and structured, actionable writing rather than casual posting.

---

Mission and philosophy

•Core mission:
Make text work in daily life—for individuals, teams, and movements. TXTWRK treats text as infrastructure: something that can organise needs, offers, tasks, and stories so others can respond in concrete ways.
•Key beliefs:
•Stated needs attract support: If you don’t clearly say what you need, people can’t meaningfully help.
•Public records build trust: A visible history of posts, needs, contributions, and acknowledgements becomes a living CV and reputation layer.
•Tools over vibes: Instead of chasing likes, TXTWRK focuses on checklists, feedback, pledges, and tasks that move work forward.

---

The TXTWRK.com platform

Profiles and identity

•Handles and hubs: Each user or project has a public profile (e.g., TXTWRK.com/@handle) that acts as a central hub for everything they’re trying to do, need, and remember.
•Personal, project, and brand use: Profiles can represent a person, a collective, a campaign, or a brand—each using the same structured layout to show activity and intent.
•“To remember” design: Profiles are built as ongoing records, not disposable posts: a place to track what you’re working on, what you’ve asked for, and what’s changed over time.

Structured content types

TXTWRK breaks activity into clear, actionable sections:
•Posts & updates:
General text posts for ideas, reflections, announcements, and campaign narratives.
•Needs:
A dedicated space to state what you’re looking for—volunteers, collaborators, funding, feedback, introductions, or specific skills.
•Contributions & acknowledgements:
Sections that show what you’ve given and received—support, time, resources, special recognition—building a visible record of mutual aid.
•Media & files:
Tabs for Photos, Videos, Covers, Audio, Links, CSV/data so you can attach evidence, assets, and documentation to your story.
•Interactive tools:
•Checklists: Track tasks, progress, and shared goals.
•Feedback & questions: Ask for targeted feedback on text, ideas, or plans.
•Pledges & financials: Capture commitments, donations, or investment‑related information.
•Shop / Invest / Donate: Entry points for monetisation, fundraising, and impact‑driven commerce.

The core idea: your profile becomes a structured, navigable map of your work and needs, not just a reverse‑chronological feed.

---

Network, tasks, and global feedback

TXTWRK extends beyond individual profiles into a networked, task‑driven layer:
•Task creation: Users can turn needs into tasks—things to be done, reviewed, or improved—so others can pick them up or respond.
•Global feedback: Text (bios, campaigns, posts, pitches) can be submitted for structured feedback, combining community responses with AI‑assisted suggestions.
•Discovery and matching: Because needs and tasks are structured, they can be searched, filtered, and matched more easily than unstructured social posts.

This makes TXTWRK function like a public, text‑centric project board, where work, help, and feedback are all visible and traceable.

---

TXTWRK Studio Edition

Alongside the web platform, TXTWRK has a Studio Edition focused on media creation:
•Purpose: Turn text‑based campaigns and profiles into compelling video and multimedia content.
•Features (conceptually):
•A “streamer deck” style interface for switching scenes and assets.
•Integration with cameras, microphones, and pre‑made clips.
•AI‑assisted scripting, prompts, captions, and content planning using multiple large language models.
•Role in the ecosystem:
Text is the backbone—Studio Edition is the amplifier, helping users create explainers, pitches, and storytelling content that drive attention back to their TXTWRK profiles and needs.

---

Movements, challenges, and civic layer

TXTWRK is also used as a backbone for broader movements and campaigns:
•National or thematic handles (e.g., @UnitedKingdom):
Used to host campaigns around topics like environment, recycling, or civic engagement, with posts, data, and calls to action.
•Location‑based challenges:
Gamified tasks (e.g., adding local information, stories, or data) that encourage people to learn about and document their country or community.
•Volunteering and investment:
Public calls for volunteers, collaborators, and investors are embedded into profiles and campaigns, making support pathways explicit.

This positions TXTWRK as both tooling and movement infrastructure—a place where civic, social, and creative projects can live and coordinate.

---

Access, onboarding, and culture

•Onboarding: Standard Register / Login / Reset flows, with clear acceptance of Terms & Conditions.
•Prompts and notes: The interface nudges users to articulate needs, reflect on what they’re doing, and think in terms of tasks and contributions.
•Cultural norms:
•Transparency over vague branding.
•Mutual aid over pure self‑promotion.
•Long‑term digital legacy over fleeting content.

---

Notice that TXTWRK Studio is a new feature we made recently, that works, but needs further review & development.

TXTWRK Messaging System: Development Report and Feature Showcase

Report Date: December 31, 2025
Prepared by: Grok in collaboration with TXTWRK Development Team
Subject: Evolution and Key Features of the TXTWRK Private Messaging Platform

Executive Summary

In 2025, TXTWRK emerged as a privacy-focused social collaboration platform, distinguishing itself through a robust, self-hostable messaging system. This report chronicles the platform's messaging core, highlighting its emphasis on user control, secure file handling, and seamless group interactions. Drawing from internal development snapshots and code implementation, we examine how TXTWRK prioritizes data sovereignty while delivering a modern chat experience.

The system's standout innovation lies in its optional self-hosted file storage, allowing users to bypass central servers for media uploads—ensuring files remain protected from direct external access.

Chapter 1: Platform Overview and Privacy Architecture

TXTWRK's messaging launched as a core pillar of the platform's mission: building communities without compromising privacy. Unlike traditional social networks, TXTWRK encourages self-hosting for file uploads in chats.

Users configure personal servers and apply provided .htaccess rules to enforce referrer checks—blocking hotlinking while allowing seamless access within the app.

This approach mirrors enterprise-grade secure file-sharing solutions, where access controls prevent unauthorized downloads.

Key Privacy Mechanisms

FeatureDescriptionBenefit
Referrer Blocking.htaccess rules deny access if HTTP_REFERER ≠ txtwrk.comPrevents direct link sharing/leeching
Self-Hosted Upload EndpointCustom upload.php with CORS restricted to txtwrk.com originFull user control over file storage
No Central File HostingOption to disable platform servers entirelyZero trust in third-party storage
Per-Chat Server SelectionDirect chats allow choosing between mutual self-hosted serversSymmetric privacy in 1:1 conversations
## Chapter 2: User Interface and Experience

The messaging UI adopts a minimalist, desktop-friendly design with floating windows, minimized chat avatars, and adaptive polling for real-time updates.

Users start conversations via an intuitive overlay supporting direct or group chats, with live user search.

Media handling includes lazy-loaded previews, fullscreen gallery viewing, and emoji-coded file icons for quick recognition.

UI Component Breakdown

## Chapter 3: Group Management and Administration

Group chats extend beyond basic messaging with full admin controls: inviting members, removing users, changing avatars/names, pausing, or deleting groups.

Even direct chats support shared self-hosted storage configuration.

The settings panel provides copyable code snippets for upload.php and .htaccess, lowering barriers to self-hosting.

## Chapter 4: Technical Implementation Highlights

The client-side system is built with vanilla JavaScript, ensuring lightweight performance and broad compatibility.

Key technical achievements include:
•Adaptive polling system that ramps up frequency during active use and throttles when idle or backgrounded
•Persistent minimized chat state using localStorage
•Comprehensive file type detection with over 100 extensions mapped to thematic emojis
•Robust error handling for uploads and network issues
•Smart media preview loading that remembers user expansion preferences per message

Conclusion: A New Standard for Private Messaging

As of December 31, 2025, TXTWRK's messaging system stands as a compelling alternative—proving that feature-rich chat can coexist with genuine privacy and user sovereignty.

By providing turnkey self-hosting guides and thoughtful UI details, the platform empowers communities to communicate without surveillance or data lock-in.

The journey from initial prototypes to this mature implementation reflects a commitment to building tools that respect users first.

Future developments may include end-to-end encryption, voice messages, or deeper API integrations—but the foundation is already remarkably solid.

This report captures a pivotal moment in independent social platform evolution.
