📍 Conflicting Zones: Where Does Derby Actually End?

www.Derby.support/feedback Start your journey today (Record constructive digital feedback)

A line on a map can tell you which council empties your bins.

But can it tell you where you belong?

That’s the question behind our new Derby Community Hub project: Conflicting Zones.

Because there isn’t really just one Derby.

There’s the Derby defined by official boundaries.

There’s the Derby created by roads, houses and neighbourhoods growing into one another.

And then there’s OUR DERBY — the Derby that exists in the minds of the people who live here.

And those three versions don’t always agree.

That’s where things get interesting. 👀

We’re going to take Derby’s disputed edges and put them to YOU.

Is it Derby? Or isn’t it?

Make your case. Disagree. Defend your corner. Listen to somebody else’s argument. Maybe even change your mind.

Because this project has a second purpose.

We want to get better at disagreeing with each other.

Talking about things we find difficult to talk about.

Being assertive without being aggressive.

Listening without immediately attacking.

Having different opinions without destroying friendships.

Those things matter for friendships, communities and our mental health — and they’re things Derby Community Hub has championed from the beginning.

Eventually, we want to create something rather special:

🗺️ OFFICIAL DERBY
🗺️ PHYSICAL DERBY
🗺️ OUR DERBY

And when we overlay them, we’ll discover Derby’s true…

🔥 CONFLICTING ZONES.

So, Derby…

Where do YOU draw the line?

First disputed territory coming soon. 👀

Are you satisfied with new builds over the last 26 years in Britain?

The more you support their developments, the easier they can secure contracts and build how they want, when they want. Lets change this today...

It's important for community to have a say, for any development made in their city. You can now post feedback for places via the @TXTWRK post box, right up to filling in our @DerbyCommunityHub:Qs! to tell us about your needs.

www.Derby.support Community Hub Report – Next Stage
Date: December 28, 2025
Awards to all participants and thanks for setting legacy for the next generation of students in Derby!

Executive Summary

Derby.support is an independent, grassroots digital platform dedicated to fostering creativity, collaboration, and portfolio-building for the people of Derby. Fully community-driven and volunteer-led, it provides an open space where individuals can connect, share ideas, co-create projects, and showcase their talents—free from institutional constraints or external partnerships.

Current Status and Foundations

The domain derby.support is live and serves as the core online hub. The project relies on accessible, low-cost tools like TXTWRK.com to power collaborative checklists, task management, volunteer coordination, and public feedback. Recent activities have included student contributions to content and social media, delivering real-world experience in a supportive, open environment.

Promotion and community outreach are handled through channels such as @ItsOurDerby on X, keeping everything transparent and volunteer-powered.

Vision: A Community-Owned Space for Creativity and Collaboration

Derby.support is built to be a welcoming, unrestricted digital home that supports:
•Free expression through sharing art, ideas, stories, and discussions
•Group collaboration on projects, guided by open, shared checklists and taskboards
•Personal portfolio development via documented contributions, project galleries, and verifiable outcomes

Participants—whether students, professionals, or enthusiasts—can join or start projects, build skills together, and create tangible evidence of their work for future opportunities. The platform is entirely community-owned, ensuring it remains flexible, inclusive, and responsive to the people who use it.

Expansion Opportunities

The lightweight, checklist-driven model is designed for easy replication. The same approach could launch similar independent hubs in other cities (e.g., Birmingham.support) with minimal resources. Growth within Derby can include dedicated sections for arts, events, education, local innovation, and community health as interest develops.

Opportunities for Students and Professionals

Derby.support offers practical pathways to gain experience and visibility:
•Form or join project teams on topics that matter to you
•Contribute to public checklists and collaborative tasks
•Build a strong, evidence-based portfolio through completed projects

These activities provide real-world proof of creativity, teamwork, and initiative—valuable for job applications, freelance work, or further collaboration—all achieved through open participation.

Next Steps

1. Roll out core features on derby.support: user registration, public checklists, and project spaces
2. Grow awareness via @ItsOurDerby and other community networks
3. Welcome new volunteers and contributors through open invitations
4. Measure progress by active projects, checklists, and participant numbers

Long-Term Outlook

As a truly independent initiative, Derby.support aims to host hundreds of collaborative projects and checklists in the year ahead, strengthening Derby’s creative community from the ground up. By staying grassroots and people-led, it can inspire similar self-sustaining hubs elsewhere, proving that powerful community spaces can thrive without institutional backing.

Derby.support is our starting point—an open, community-driven platform for creativity, collaboration, and lasting local impact.

Visit derby.support or connect through our community channels to get involved. Everyone is welcome to contribute.
