๐งฅ Be Safe. Be Warm. Check On People.
As autumn settles across the Northern Hemisphere, many households are facing increasing pressure from rising living costs, housing insecurity and the need for warmer clothing.
At Derby.Support, we're exploring how communities, local government, national government, charities, innovators and manufacturers can work together to ensure everyone can access approved, affordable, sustainable coats and winter clothing.
Imagine:
โขSustainable coat designs made to last.
โขCommunity-backed clothing schemes.
โขLocal creators and innovators developing new solutions.
โขApproved standards for warmth, durability and sustainability.
โขOpportunities for careers in community development, technology and social innovation.
๐ Andy Burnham has consistently highlighted the importance of supporting people facing homelessness and rough sleeping. That conversation matters everywhere, including Derby. A warm coat alone will not solve homelessness, but warmth, dignity, shelter, employment and community support are all connected parts of the same challenge.
Our Community Developer Team believes the next generation of solutions will come from people who are willing to build, create, design and innovate together.
